What inspires Nidhi?
As founder of YFD, Nidhi has helped develop YFD from the start. While at Columbia University, she served as Co-Director of External Outreach for 2 years, initiating and managing relationships with partner schools and placing volunteers in classrooms in NYC. She also served a Senior Advisor helping to direct YFD's strategy as it established its presence and continued to grow. Nidhi graduated from Columbia University in 2012 with a B.A. in Economics-Operations Research and a concentration in Sustainable Development. She passionately believes that there should be no barrier between people and their potential and that a supportive education is one of the most important tools for minimizing existing barriers. Nidhi currently works for LearnSprout, a data analytics company for K-12 school districts to help spot chronic absenteeism and track college readiness, identifying at-risk students before the drop out of school. She previously worked at Goldman Sachs and TD Securities in Investment Banking for their Public Sector & Infrastructure groups.

To make sure they are heard.”

“Our volunteers get the opportunity to experience first-hand what innercity public school systems are like.”

“I have always been interested in issues surrounding our country’s public education system, but YFD provided a perspective of the education system from the inside.”

“Solutions to the problems we see in statistics on graduation need to be approached from a variety of different angles inside and outside the classroom.”

“I strongly believe that there should be no barrier between people and their potential.
